Tips to save water in the toilet flush
Go for a low flow toilet
Flushing the toilet will require a lot of water every time you attempt it. The conventional toilet flushing mechanisms use about 5 to 6 gallons of water per every use of the toilet. The low flush models can flush with as little as 1.6 gallons.
Place a water-filled bottle inside the flush tank
If you are not able to replace the higher volume flush tank, place a plastic bottle filled with water inside the toilet tank that will consume some space and save the amount of water used up during the flushes.
Check the toilet for any leaks
If the toilet tanks leak, it will lead to a lot of water wastage unnoticed. Often it might be difficult to notice the leaks in the tanks. Use the following technique to detect if the tank is leaking.
