I am writing this article based on some brain-storming that we did over couple of weeks while looking for some ideas. The ideas suggested here are purely random and some more research might be needed to gauge the scale and potential of the idea. I am considering Indian entrepreneurs as the main audience for this article and will keep the figures India-related only.
1. An info-portal for retirees
An information portal for retirees could go a long way. Going by the search volume of some related keywords, around 2,000 searches are done over a couple of permutations.
A portal describing various types of pension plans, retirement planning ideas, issues related to retired people and retirement as a whole could serve as a hub sort of. Given the large volume of retirees and would-be retirees in the country, this could click without doubt.
2. Phulkari
This idea could be product portal where people sell Phulkari. Phulkari is a type of mantilla famous from Punjab and is worn by many. Another variation is known as bagh. These products are in high-demand in the foreign countries too. An online presence could mean that people can buy this product through internet also.
Some advertisement and optimization of the web-portal would be needed.
3. Selling sweets online
Selling sweets online could be a good idea. However, its approach should be kept local. Suppose an online portal for selling sweets in Gurgaon or Ahmedabad or Agra.
Roping the manufacturers and coordinating for logistics would be the major tasks.
4. Online lunch
Another idea in the same domain as discussed above. This could mean for breakfast and dinner also. A lot of professionals would like to order food online, if quality, price and variety is offered to them.
Given that a lot of fast-food chains and pizza outlets are already selling their product, selling regular meals could click. Once again, this should be locally-focused.
5. Bulk Copy
This stands as a unique idea and would require a lot of hard-work. It revolves around bulk photocopy/photostat demand. Users would be ordering bulk copying of their documents are avoiding standing in queues on the photostat machines in the market. The idea can be extended to bulk copy ordering of photos, etc.
At the same time, binding of reports for students could also be included. Thousands of students need reports printed and bound in various formats. Giving them options online would surely click. Moreover, advertising the website in colleges would be relatively cheap compared to the advertisement done for masses.
